So, I finally got off my ass and started to play through MGS2 once more (HD Collection, yo!), and it made me think about the past. I know some of people know this about me, but its been on my mind so I'm attempting to speak it out here.... For that I am sorry.

I grew up with out a mother and my father hated me with a brother who constantly tormented me. Not going to get into details here, but I can't really say that I was raised properly. What I had to do was basically raise myself, forcing me to mature faster than my peers. One thing I had though was video games and anime, which I learned a lot of my most important life lessons from. They were not just outlets, but they became my life then. I always knew the different between real world and gaming, but they still held spots in my life. Keeping my individuality at the highest is something I learned from Ghost in the Shell.

Outside of this serious depressing stuff, there are some good things from this (outside maturing faster). This is how I got into cosplay, thanks to Metal Gear. Metal Gear Solid was and still am one of my favorite games series, so one day when I was 15, I was searching random Snake pictures on Google and found one of some dude dressed up as Snake and led me to Cosplay.com. The rest was kinda history, it was a new form of fun, an escape if you will. It definitely helped me through my hard times. MGS cosplays were my first few cosplays. A few years later I gained friends in NYC and started to head up there, then eventually Philadelphia. It was some awesome times then, not saying that I don't have fun now, and definitely in a better situation than before. Still, its because of these nerd things, I was able to make some light out of the dark.

Any who, I just wanted to get that off my chest, blame the ending of Metal Gear Solid 2, lol. But daaamn, did Nostalgia hit me hard today....

Other than that, something probably awesome is coming my way a few weekends from now. Unfortunately, I don't think I can talk about it just yet, but it involves me in my Naked Snake cosplay. Also, had fun at the Ren Faire as Dovahkiin! Not sure whats worse, losing voice from Dragon Shouting all day at the Ren Faire or hosting the Final Fantasy Gathering at AX.
